About the book

After a devastating breakup derails her carefully planned future, literature professor Chloe Sinclair escapes to the charming seaside town of Hawthorne Cove to attend its inaugural Jane Austen Festival and spend time with her best friend, Daphne, the festival's event planner.

But when one of the actors hired to portray Mr. Darcy is found murdered on opening night, the celebration is thrown into chaos. With the festival—and the town's livelihood—hanging in the balance, Chloe and Daphne set out to uncover the truth.

As they dig beneath Hawthorne Cove's picture-perfect literary charm, they discover long-buried secrets, simmering rivalries, and more suspects than they ever imagined. To catch a killer, Chloe will have to read this town the way she reads Austen: closely, and between the lines.

The Author

Grace Caldwell

Grace Caldwell writes cozy mysteries for people who'd bring a book to a murder. An award-winning screenwriter and a professor of creative writing and literature, she's published across more genres than she can reasonably list at a dinner party — but cozy mysteries, all tea and wit and tidy justice, are where she feels most at home.

She lives in central Florida with two fluffy feline assistants, Elsa and Anna, who supervise every page and approve of none of her deadlines. When she isn't teaching or plotting her next Hawthorne Cove murder, you'll find her in the kitchen earning the occasional blue ribbon — and yes, the recipes make it into the back of the book. One of Our Darcies Is Dead is her debut cozy mystery.
